Merge Multiple Files into PDF – macOS

Do you have multiple single page files, pictures or pdfs that you need to merge into one? What if I tell you that there is no need to install a third party application for this but you can combine or merge multiple files into PDF just using your Macbook or iMac. You can use the Preview app on your macOS to generate a single PDF file from multiple documents or images.

How to merge multiple files into pdf using Preview on macOS

Step 1: Gather all your documents/images into a folder. Now select them all and open with Preview.

Step 2: You will see all your images in the Preview application. Rotate and Rearrange them as you like. You can rotate them using the rotate button on the top right corner of the application. Just drag the images in the left sidebar to arrange them.

Step 3: Once you are done arranging and editing the images, go to File – Print. There is an option to Export as PDF but it just exports a single image.

Step 4: The print dialog box opens and it’s a good place to preview your document before exporting it to PDF. You can ignore the rest of the settings as we are not going to print an actual document. Relax fellas!

Step 5: Click on the down arrow button next to the PDF option located at the bottom of the dialog box. A submenu will prompt with various options. Now click on the Save as PDF option.

Step 6: Welcome another dialog box. This dialog box will display all the relevant options like the filename, location and some metadata for your file. Fill in the appropriate details and click on Save. You can also password protect the file using the Security Options button located at the bottom of the dialog box.

Step 7: Depending on how large your file is, it will take some time to generate the PDF. Once done, you should see your single PDF file in the location you saved.

So that’s how you merge multiple files into a single PDF document using the Pages app on the macOS. To get more how-to guides, please subscribe to ReadMeNow.
