The new Whatsapp pin feature will let you pin your three favorite conversations to the top. This will help you save a lot of time when finding important and frequent chats. The Whatsapp Pins has been rolled out for beta versions only but will be soon available for stable versions.
If you want to try out this new feature, you can sign up for WhatsApp beta program on Google Play. This feature is currently available for Android devices with the latest beta version of Whatsapp. The build numbers 2.17.162 or 2.17.163 currently support this Whatsapp Pin feature. Even though this feature is available on the beta versions, we are sure that it will be supported on stable builds asap! There is no update as to when it will be rolled out for iOS and other Whatsapp users but they will follow as soon as it is released on the Android Play Store.
How to use this Whatsapp Pins feature on your Android device?
To use this feature, you need to be a beta tester. Sign Up for WhatsApp beta program on Google Play if you aren’t a tester. Download Whatsapp Messenger and wait for the beta update. To pin a chat to the top, long press that chat and tap on the pin icon on the top. You will see a pin icon next to your chat. Similarly, to unpin your chat, long press the pinned chat and unpin it on the top bar.
You can only pin 3 chats using this new feature. We would suggest you wait for the stable release and then try this feature out. This will ensure that the beta build will not cause any problems in your application.
