How does the idea of traveling to an amazing place, doing local stuff and mesmerizing yourself with those landscapes just by sitting on your sofa sound to you? If you had a boring day in the office and need a getaway asap, here is a list of 8 Indian travel shows you can’t afford to miss. The unfortunate part about Indian travel shows is that the good ones are just a few. But never mind, these travel shows will keep you busy until a new one comes out.

Way Back Home

Way Back Home by The Vibe is one of my favorite travel shows. Way Back Home is a Himalayan travelogue hosted by Varun Thakur. Varun, who has spent all his life away from his home in Manali, comes back to explore the Himalayas. Varun takes us to a lot of beautiful places like Bir, Manali, Leh, Ladakh and lesser known places from the Himachal Pradesh. The entire series is filmed by just two people but the results are terrific.

TVF Tripling

I am sure most of the people who spend a lot of time on the internet are aware of TVF Tripling. TVF Tripling with Tiago is the story of three siblings who go on an unplanned road trip. It’s amusing to watch Sumeet Vyas in a serious avatar after his character Mikesh in the much famed Permanent Roommates. TVF Tripling has a lot of humorous incidents that will make you chuckle throughout the show.

Under The Rupee

For all the obvious reasons, The Vibe has become my favorite Youtube Channel for travel videos. Under the Rupee by The Vibe is Rohan Thakur’s honest attempt to show that travel can be cheaper than you think. In this series, he explores Hungary and ends up spending not more than a lac rupees. With just three episodes, Under The Rupee talks about the Sights, People and the Countryside of Hungary.

Kalki’s Great Escape

Hosted by Kalki Koechlin and her father, Joel, Kalki’s Great Escape is an adventurous journey through the North Eastern Part of India. The father-daughter duo embarks upon a motorcycle journey to connect with the local culture and traditions of the northern India.

Highway on my Plate

Highway On My Plate is a food-travel show hosted by Rocky and Mayur. HOMP is all about embracing your inner foodie. The chemistry between Rocky and Mayur is what has made the show popular. Rocky and Mayur almost eat anything anywhere. This is what makes the show more interesting.

GottaDoIndia

GottaDoIndia is a Youtube Channel by Scherezade Shroff where she travels around India and gives one a virtual experience of traveling through different parts of India.

The Trip

The trip is a story of four girls who have this crazy idea of driving all the way from India to Thailand in their cars for a bachelorette of one of their friends. The Trip is all about discovering friendship and oneself.

Away From Home

Away from Home, again by The Vibe is an awesome travel series where the host discovers the Andaman Islands.

I hope you’ll be busy with these Indian travel shows and satisfy your wanderlust till you go on an actual trip! Did we miss any shows on this list? Let us know in the comments section below.
