It’s an average sight to see tourists or just about anybody going out on vacation. It’s also nothing out of the ordinary to see them popping out the latest smart phone, iphone, ipad, or most recent gadget available to take pictures or record their trip. It’s just a sign of the times we live in and before I go on, I have nothing against this. I even have my own fairly recent cell phone here at home and won’t be scared of taking it along with me no matter where I go.

That being said however, wouldn’t it be nice if sometimes people wouldn’t be so eager to press the record button on their gadgets?

Wouldn’t it be nice if people weren’t so eager to post selfies on some social media network?

Gadgets are great stuff and they’re there to help us in many ways one being, to record great memories in vacations. But sometimes, people tend to forget theat they’re actually on vacation in the first place.

Sometimes people are so caught up in trying to get that perfect shot with the great angle, the great backdrop, or record the perfect moment in the trip that they forget what the trip was for in the first place. To enjoy and savor priceless moments in life. Moments that are above the usual hectic and dreary existence of work.

But how could you savor such a moment if you’re too busy trying to record it for posterity?

There’s always going to be a ‘record function’ in your gadget but will there ever be a ‘savor function?’ Only you can press that button in yourself to truly enjoy the vacation you planned.

So just for a moment let’s not fret about the perfect shot or video to be uploaded online. Let’s still keep our gadgets because yes, they’re great and indispensable. But let’s also try to savor those moments in a vacation. After all, that’s what memories are for.

Would you take your gadgets on vacation? Time to vote!
